About Andrea

Andrea Adler, the author of Pushing Upward™, is also the founder of HolisticPR.com, a boutique, consulting firm specializing in holistic/spiritual PR and marketing. Recognized as the “metaphysical marketer,” Andrea is an international speaker, workshop presenter, and the author of three books on Holistic Marketing: PR for The Holistic Healer, Creating an Abundant Practice, and The Science of Spiritual Marketing: Initiation into Magnetism.

Pushing Upward™ is her breakout novel and screenplay.

A recipient of the Axiom Business Book Award in 2008 for The Science of Spiritual Marketing and Winner of the 2011-12 Los Angeles Book Festival Award for Pushing Upward™, Andrea has been a speaker at many conferences including: Natural Awakenings Annual Conference, Mountain Biz, The Holistic Medical Assoc., INATS (International New Age Trade Show) and Expo Ser in Mexico City with Deepak Chopra

Andrea has written over 50 articles on holistic/spiritual marketing, translated in five languages, and has appeared on numerous radio and TV shows throughout the world. For 30 years Andrea has supported small businesses, the holistic/therapeutic community, cultural creatives, and entrepreneurs in Europe, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, and North America. Andrea has been a contributing writer for Body, Mind, Spirit Magazine, Massage Magazine, Living Natural, Massage Today, Akkadian Magazine, Spirituality and Health, Tathaastu, New Connexion, Sentient Times, Kripalu, Reiki International and Marketing Holistico (Mexico City) UNO MISMO (Buenos Aires) and Vida Alternativa (Venezuela).

Andrea has studied meditation for 40 years, living in ashrams and meditation centers in India, Paris, New York, and California.

In her early twenties, Andrea was an actress both on and off Broadway. She was a member of Cafe La Mama, the improvisational group The Groundlings, and appeared in several TV shows. She also co-wrote and directed three videos at the American Film Institute.

As the founder of Professional Organizers in the early 80’s, Andrea’s company coordinated, supervised and expedited moves for the elite in New York City and created satellite offices to support her clients moves. Her visionary concept was so unique, New York Magazine, The New York Times and several moving magazine wrote about her business.

In the mid 80’s while a journalist for The Times Herald Record, in upstate New York, Andrea was profoundly affected by three teen suicides that occurred at a local high school. In response, she wrote a grant and received funding from Senator Charles Cook to create the Off-Off Main Street Children’s Theater Company, dedicated to works by, for, and about teenagers and the challenges they face. The company ran successfully for eight years.

She has recently offered theatrical workshops to drug and alcohol facilities working with recovering addicts, formally convicted men and women, and women in crises.
